Coach Pingel began his coaching career at CBC in 2005 and in 2008 was named Varsity Head Football Coach. The 2015 season marks his 8th season as head coach. The Cadets have gone 69-16, earning the school’s first State Championship in 2014, a berth in the State Championship Game in 2011, and the state Quarterfinals in November 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013.

Prior to coaching and teaching math at CBC, Pingel was the offensive coordinator for his Alma Mater, Westminster College, from 2002-2004. In 2003, American Football Monthly identified him as one of the “Top 10 Hottest Division III Coaches in America”. He served as the wide receivers’ coach for the Russelheim Razorbacks of the German football league, where he taught German receivers the fundamentals of coverage recognition, running routes, and blocking.

As a player, Pingel played for the River City Rage of the National Indoor Football League, where he was named First Team All-Atlantic Conference.

He previously played for the Show-Me Believers of the NIFL in 2003 and 2004. In 2001, as a member of the Russelheim Razorbacks, he led the European league in receptions, yards and touchdowns. In 2000, he was invited to the Buffalo Bills’ training camp.

While a player at Westminster, he set an NCAA –Division III record for the most career receptions, (436), and the most receptions in a season (136), the most yards (6,158 receiving yards, with 75 touchdowns) between 1996-1999. From 1997-1999, he was named an All American at wide receiver.

Prior to enrolling at Westminster, Pingel excelled in football and basketball at St. Vincent High School, in Perryville, MO.

Scott Pingel and his wife, Jodi, are the proud parents of a son, Jude, and daughter, Claire.
